Lazy Weekend

This weekend was incredibly relaxing. The problem is - I'm not really good at relaxing. I just don't know how to do it. Before I left for Vegas, I cleaned my house and wasn't home for the week... there was no cleaning to do. I bummed around in sweats for the whole weekend... It was super-duper!!!

I watched the movie American Dreamz yesterday... I was not expecting a whole Arab terrorist twist. That was just bizzarre. Hugh Grant - he's hot. I could watch him all day.

I bought a new nail polish, did my nails, hung out with the girls, cooked, bought some groceries... Really, I did nothing very exciting. I loved it!!!

Today I had brunch with a friend I hadn't seen in a year and a half. It was really nice to catch up.

I think I could get used to relaxing!!!!

Restaurant Review

Good morning everyone!

I ate the most phenomenal dinner last night at a restaurant called N9NE steakhouse at the Palms. Seared tuna, filet mignon and something called "death by potato" (which I'm sure took a few years off my life!). Oh wow was it awesome! I also tried a pomegranate martini - and that was DEEELISH.

Yum!

My meeting went really well yesterday. Have been catching up on emails this morning... Have another meeting coming up soon with our display company. I'm hoping it goes just as well as yesterday.

I'm on book three of the nerdy boy books with the wizard who consults to the police. It's really good. I have it with me. It's taking a Vegas vacation.

Happy Weekend!

As the weekend approaches, I get all giddy. No work, no annoying people, just me, myself and I and whoever I choose to include in my life for 2.5 days.

Tonight: Happy Feet (stay tuned for a movie review).

Tomorrow: manicure and date.

Sunday: Sweet fuck all.

Movie review

Yesterday, I took Kaden and Taryn to see Flushed Away. It was the first time my aunt and uncle ever let anyone take both their children somewhere in public. What a trip! We got to the theater and Kaden wanted to touch everything - ew! germs! I gave him tokens to play video games, and then the 3 of us had to all get together and help with the car racing game. Taryn sat on the chair, Kaden sat on her lap to reach the steering wheel, and I controlled the gas pedal while standing next to the game. Ah - the wonders of being part of a short family.

Anyway - the movie was really cute. A little bit like Finding Nemo meets Alladin (strictly for a Jafar-like character). Cute music. Cute story. All around cute.

In the middle of the movie, Kaden had to pee. And I am SOOOO sorry for the person that had to clean the stall when he finished. I took him in the girls room. He pulled down his pants and I said "OK - Aim for the bowl!!!" He peed everywhere!!! Thankfully not on me.

Then we ran, ran, ran back to the theater to enjoy the second half.

What a fun night with the kiddies.

Also - super weekend all around!! Friday was a chill night with the parentals. Corey was off the hook as he had plans for some Risk tournament (that's cool). Saturday night, ate at a really yummy restaurant - yuu kai. Was able to eat sushi without puking it up! Then, Steph, Tania and I met Tony and went to Orienthe; a Moroccan tea house. You have to take off your shoes. It's really warm and cozy. They have 50 kinds of tea (but only 3 decaf). Board games, shisha, deserts.... Yum! What a fun night out.

I leave for Vegas in a week from tomorrow. I've got so much to prepare!!!

Yum!

I just made reservations for a restaurant in Vegas for the 21st of November. They could barely squeeze in a table for two. How crazy is that? My reservation is for 7:45pm which is really 10:45pm. I will be tired, but I will be eating super yummy food. You can look it up if you are bored. It's called N9NE at the Palms... MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Tonight, Kevin and his gf are coming over to watch the OC, Grey's Anatomy and CSI. They are bringing Chinese Food with them. I love Chinese food. General Tao here I come.

Oh - and I have a date on the 18th. I like to think of it as the way my life seems to work... Let's book a date 10 days in advance - that's NORMAL!?!

Work is so intense right now! I love it!

I did it!

Everyone should be proud. I went on a date with a 34 year old man who had a normal name and a job. Now there's improvement. Unfortunately, I think I prefer younger, scruffier, unemployed artists...

For a quick rundown (sorry for repeat info to some):
  • He was nice enough to hold the door open for me
  • Told me I speak like a Woody Allen movie "Just when I think you are finished a sentence, you go on for another 2." OK...
  • He only eats at expensive restaurants
  • Has an entire room devoted to his clothing

WAY TOO HIGH MAINTENANCE FOR ME. Made me want to roll around in the dirt a little. And there's no way he's going to call me again...

So thank you Elana. You tried. Suivant next.

Red hot!

These are the shoes I bought on Friday night. They are H-O-T hot! I love them and they are super comfortable. I also bought 2 skirts, 3 pairs of underwear and a belt. All for under $100. What a great feeling.

I also finally coloured my hair BROWN. No more brassy red crap. I am much happier.

Steph and Tania saw Borat today and loved it! Brian hated it - he's stupid (obviously).

I still feel sort of under the weather. There's something just not right, so I think I am going to make a doctor's appointment tomorrow. I'm so sick of these headaches!

I give up!

OK - so I was bold, brave and left a message. I got no response. I have officially given up. I've already decided that my next show will be called "FUCK THIS I'M JOINING A CONVENT." It will be about a young Jewish woman's quest to find a convent that will accept her - and then she falls in love with the groundskeeper and they live happily ever after.

I'd just like to say - again - if you tell someone you are going to call them at a certain time, or on a certain day, pick up your damn phone and do it. My mom taught me that when you say you're going to do something - you do it. That's just the way life works. And if you don't have time, well it only takes 10 seconds to call a person and say "I'm really busy... can we talk another day?" Really, is it nice to just fall off the face of the Earth and leave the other hoping that you really are in a coma?

Thank you.
